The Bethlehem Central Board of Education officially appointed Kyle Roberts as the district's new supervisor of physical education, health, and athletics during its meeting on May 20. Roberts steps into a role that places him in charge of all K-12 instruction in both physical education and health across the district's seven schools.
Beyond classroom instruction, his responsibilities will include overseeing intramural programs and modified-level athletics. The appointment marks a significant leadership change for the district's sports and wellness programs. Roberts will work to coordinate curriculum and activities for students from elementary through high school, ensuring consistency in physical education and health standards.
The board's decision comes after a search process to fill the supervisory position. Roberts brings experience to the role, which involves managing staff, developing programs, and promoting student wellness. His oversight will extend to both competitive athletics and general fitness education, aiming to support student development in physical health and teamwork.
The district expects Roberts to begin his duties shortly, focusing on building on existing programs and introducing new initiatives for the upcoming school year.
