Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital has significantly upgraded its cardiac and critical care services with the opening of two new catheterization labs and an expanded Intensive Care Unit. This multi-million dollar investment directly targets faster, more advanced treatment for heart attack patients and those requiring complex surgical recovery.
The state-of-the-art catheterization labs are equipped with advanced imaging technology, allowing interventional cardiologists to diagnose and open blocked arteries with greater speed and precision. For patients experiencing a severe heart attack, every minute is critical, and these new facilities enable life-saving procedures to begin much sooner after arrival at the hospital.
Complementing the new labs is the addition of eight private ICU rooms, bringing the unit's total to twenty. These rooms are designed for patients recovering from major cardiac procedures or other critical illnesses, featuring the latest monitoring equipment to provide a higher level of specialized care in a modern, private environment.
Hospital officials state the expansion is a direct response to the rapid growth of the community and the increasing need for comprehensive cardiovascular services close to home. The enhancements ensure that residents in Osceola County and surrounding areas have access to nationally recognized heart care without needing to travel long distances during a medical emergency. The project represents a long-term commitment to elevating the standard of health care available in the region.
