Staff Spotlight: Meet Lucy Kilbane

This summer, the Workforce Innovation team is pleased to introduce Lucy Kilbane, who has joined the group to support the TAP Health Summer Academy, or THSA. Lucy's role involves helping with the day-to-day operations of the program, which focuses on giving students hands-on exposure to careers in healthcare.

When asked about her work, Lucy said she was drawn to the academy because it combines two things she cares about: education and community health. She has been helping coordinate sessions, working with guest speakers, and making sure participants have what they need to succeed. Her colleagues have already noticed her ability to connect with students and her willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.

Lucy is studying public health and hopes to build a career in program coordination after she finishes school. She says the best part of the summer so far has been watching the students grow more confident in their own skills. "They come in curious, and by the end of the week, they are leading discussions," she noted.

The THSA runs through early August, and Lucy plans to make the most of her time there. She is also looking forward to learning more about how workforce development programs are designed and measured. The team is glad to have her on board and expects she will leave a lasting mark on the academy.
